check out the engine rooms

The engine rooms is situated in Skem – a mere 15 Minute Drive from Wigan. I took a trip down there to check them out, and I was extremely impressed with the setup.

Having being in a gigging band for almost 10 years, I got to try out quite a lot of rehearsal rooms from Liverpool to Preston and everywhere in between. The engine rooms doesn?t just top them all – it does more than that: it?s special.

To start with, the place is spotless. If you?re a musician, I don?t need to tell you that music rooms are generally not the healthiest places to hang around in – what with smoke, dust etc. At the engine rooms however, not only is everything spotless, but each rehearsal room has its own PA and mixing desk and is fully soundproof.

And if that?s not impressive enough by itself, get this: each rehearsal room is fully air-conditioned! Just being there and it makes you want to be in a band all over again!

This too much to talk about the engine rooms to do it justice in this post, like the fact that that is a very ample cafe with stunning local art displayed everywhere, great coffee and great food, grate friendly service and way too much more to mention here.

It?s not just a bunch of rehearsal rooms for bands – it?s also a cool hand out place for musicians, artists, writers and the general public.
